Programme Manager

Location: Morley, Leeds

Role Summary:

To support the Head of Teaching, Learning and Assessment in providing exceptional leadership and direction to enable the successful delivery of Apprenticeship programmes, Skills Bootcamps, and other funded/non-regulated training programmes to meet defined contractual and business objectives. This post will provide strong, performance driven management and operational support to enable the effective delivery of Springfield Training contracts.

The role will provide a team of Vocational Tutors with day-to-day line management and support and will be responsible for the initial allocation and subsequent delivery of work streams as they arise. The Programme Manager will oversee and manage the operational quality and compliance activities in collaboration with the Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement, and Head of Data, Funding and Compliance.

This role requires flexibility, personal drive and a commitment to exceeding contractual targets as well as the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve high levels of performance.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Manage and motivate a designated group of Vocational Tutors in relation to caseload management and achievement against an agreed set of KPIs and quality measures in line with contractual targets. Supervise and support team members, ensuring that channels of communication within the company are maintained ensuring the fast flow of information

2. Monitor quality of provision from the perspective of the learner / employer and implement arrangements for continuous improvement.

3. Act in accordance with the Springfield Training Leadership principles.

4. Act as lead contact with the Head of Department and to ensure effective work stream management and delivery of training in accordance with the contractual targets and regulatory requirements.

5. Liaise regularly with the Head of Department and other senior leadership colleagues to understand key business priorities, risks and issues, and feedback suggested improvements in a timely manner.

6. Manage through an agreed framework of KPI’s, the timely performance of all the delivery elements of all programmes, including contributing towards the monitoring of the quality of Springfield Training programmes, the sharing of good practice, and supporting continuous improvement activities.

7. Contribute to maintaining the agreed Learner Management Systems to provide statistical and financial information when requested, highlighting any operational risks and seeking to provide solutions in order to ensure the delivery of all Springfield Training programmes are maintained and remain on target.

8. Contribute to the on-going development of curriculum plans and on programme quality.

9. Identify any training needs for the team, and ensure these are addressed in a timely, efficient manner through regular 1-2-1s and participate in the bi-annual staff appraisal reviews.

10. Support with all internal and external audit activity, including inspections from Awarding organisations, Funding bodies and Ofsted.

11. To support the leadership team in producing and maintaining quality reports and improvement plans, including the annual Self-Assessment Report.

12. To ensure qualification moderation an external quality assurance intervention is managed in a timely manner and to take a lead in all related requirements for IV/EV.

13. Provide a professional interface with all key stakeholders to ensure contract expectations are being met.
